Why Use a Blog? Facebook? Twitter? YouTube? Others?

There are distinct purposes to use social media Websites, blogs, and video Websites. Facebook, a social media Website, is ideal to connect with old friends and stay in touch not only with with people, but also groups and companies. Twitter is terrific to find out what is happening now. YouTube can help a business share content on their own channel – if a picture can speak a thousand words, a video is often much better. Other Websites, if they become popular, should have a clear, distinct purpose that resonates with users.

Usually the goal online is to capture more leads, sell more products/services, or increase membership. It is crucial to understand all goals for a company Website so that the marketing team can create compelling campaigns, successful funnels, and lose as few Website visitors as possible prior to goal completion.

New Technologies Online

Posted on: May 21, 2010 by Comments Off

There are always new technologies online to read about, test, and evaluate. It is important to select new technologies to implement when they will be useful for a business. This may sound simple, but many businesses do find themselves implementing many new technologies just because they can, even though there is no plan. The best strategy in my opinion is to have a plan, and after implementing each technology allocate resources to ensure success.

Although it can be quite a bit of strategic work to increase general traffic to a company Website, it is most important to increase quality traffic. Is Online Marketing for Each Industry the Same

Posted on: March 24, 2010 by Comments Off

Online Website design, development, and marketing for each industry can have similarities and differences. Similarities are that some technologies and techniques to consider are the same. For example, Expression Engine may be ideal for clients in two different verticals who want blogs. But, often there are tools and sets of information that make one vertical different from another. An example is that a real estate agent wants to pull local information around a house into the Website dynamically while an auto dealer wants to pull in a dynamic inventory list.

Does this mean a company should hire a firm to build their Website and marketing which only focuses on their industry? No. Whether you hire a consultant such as myself, or a marketing agency, the best result comes from a wide range of experience. Plug-ins and technologies can always be integrated.

It is also extremely important to have someone working for you that is very dedicated, honest, and innovative. In my case, I am very passionate about what I do. I also know when there are tasks I should not be doing and will bring in an hourly team member for you at a rate that makes sense for a task with my processes, such as SEO link building. That way I ensure quality is there but you have additional help from my well trained team members.

Often my team members have gone on to work at companies such as Google and Yahoo, and I feel this is due to high quality work, innovation, and attitude.
