Extra Opportunities for Searchers and Websites from New Google SERPs

Google’s freshly redesigned SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) offer refreshing extra opportunities for searchers as well as Website owners and marketers.

In the past, a search on Google.com would culminate in results composed of conventional Websites, blogs, breaking news, and an assemblage of other categories. It was a long-term project to acquire top Google.com listings from social Websites such as Twitter and Facebook (here is an example of a Dell Outlet Twitter listing within traditional Google search results). Blog listings and news articles would climb fast in Google results, and many would plummet expeditiously due to their time specific distinction.

Nowadays, Google’s freshly redesigned SERPs bestow advantages.  Relevant posts on social media Websites from miscellaneous users are capable of displaying more frequently, shown in this Updates example query for Dell Outlet. This blog search for Dell Outlet demonstrates that results now contain a combination of the latest as well as high PageRank blog entries.

Further new opportunities I see maximize Google listings for a given Website.  They pertain to various categories in the top left panel on Google’s new SERPs. They are comprised of standard Web pages, Blogs, News, Images, Videos, Maps, Shopping, Books, Updates, Discussions, and Location. As an example, the Updates link in the new Google SERPs most frequently reveals Twitter updates from users. Moreover, the Updates link displays posts from other social Websites such as Jaiku, FriendFeed, and MySpace. In this example, the social Websites within the Google Updates section are desirable sites to utilize.

Marketing a given client Website, I do not limit strategic marketing efforts solely towards Website results that appeared as I researched deeply through Google links. I spend the majority of my SEO pursuits building a quality presence on Websites I locate through research techniques on search engines. I also allocate off primary Website SEO hours for other Websites that, through research, I distinguish have the capacity to appear and lead other incoming results in coming weeks and months.

I do not feel that marketing findings that can target Websites found within Google’s left panel section SERPs research should be viewed as done exclusively to obtain Google results. Intelligent marketing efforts focused on SEO/SEM that accompany well coded pages will produce Web pages that many search engines, different Websites, and online visitors can utilize.

It is vital that any marketing projects launched carry the commitment of the Website owners. As accomplishments progress, new Website enhancements and pages will keep search engines and visitors engaged, amplifying results over time.
